New Year’s Eve at the Inn at Langley
January 19, 2010What a New Year’s Eve we had this year! It’s a bit late, but I wanted to share a couple details with you – while every night at the Inn is enjoyable, we have a lot of fun putting on “parties,” so to speak, and this New Year’s Eve was no exception!
Firstly, all of us servers stayed up the night before putting together some special decorations for the guests… think those hats are easy to make? Think again!

But everyone looked fantastic in them. Hats, noisemakers, confetti, special decorations – we hoped those of you who attended enjoyed it!

But enough on the decorations… as usual, Matt’s fantastic food was the highlight of the evening. A special element he’s been working on lately is incorporating liquid nitrogen and other molecular gastronomy into our desserts. A quick frozen chocolate mousse – with a touch of cardamom for some delightful kick, of course – is my favorite. Not to mention the process is a fascinating spectacle to watch…
But my favorite part of New Year’s Eve (and sadly, as I was running about pouring wine and clearing plates, I didn’t get a chance to take a photograph) – a live band! Swingy, out of Mountlake Terrace, was kind enough to serenade our guests with delightful jazz and swing covers throughout the evening. Not to mention, those gentlemen looked rather dapper themselves. We might be bringing them back for some more events soon… so keep your eyes peeled for announcements!
That’s a quick breeze through of New Year’s at the Inn – we hope you all had a fantastic New Years, and we look forward to seeing you soon – whether for a basic romantic getaway, or all-out festive event!
